BOMBSHELL CASTING REVEALED: Mark Grossman Almost Played a Forrester Instead of Adam Newman!

Can you imagine a world where Mark Grossman was not Adam Newman? War to the death

In a shocking behind-the-scenes revelation, the actor who has dominated The Young and the Restless as Victor Newman’s troubled son for the past seven years nearly ended up on The Bold and the Beautiful instead!

During a recent SAG-AFTRA Foundation casting panel, Y&R casting director Greg Salmon opened up about the daunting task of recasting Adam Newman after Justin Hartley’s departure. With Adam being one of the most iconic and important characters in the Newman dynasty, the pressure was enormous.

But the moment Grossman walked into the audition room, everything changed.

“His energy was just off the charts,” Salmon recalled. “It felt like this is how Adam should be.”

The rest, as they say, is soap opera history.

Or almost.

In a twist no one saw coming, The Bold and the Beautiful casting director Christy Dooley dropped a jaw-dropping confession: Grossman had also auditioned for the role of Thomas Forrester — and he was actually her top choice!

“Mark came in and read for Thomas Forrester, and he was my choice for the role,” Dooley revealed.

Yes, you read that right. Before becoming Genoa City’s most notorious Newman, Grossman was one casting decision away from joining the powerful Forrester family in Los Angeles.

Ultimately, the role went to Matthew Atkinson, who has played Thomas ever since. Ironically, Atkinson had previously appeared on The Young and the Restless, proving once again that in the soap world, everyone’s connected.

The stunning revelation leaves fans wondering: What would The Bold and the Beautiful have looked like with Mark Grossman as Thomas? And would The Young and the Restless have ever found the Adam Newman fans know today?

One thing is certain: a single casting decision changed the future of two soap opera powerhouses forever.
