The ITV presenter was mentioned in the soap by Liam Cavanagh

Lorraine Kelly took to her social media as she responded to an Emmerdale star’s plea after she gushed over the ITV soap.

Over recent episodes, Emmerdale has been filled to the brim with drama, unexpected newcomers and secrets being exposed across the village.

Many viewers, however, were pleased to see that actor Chris Coghill has reprised his role as the difficult Kev Townsend who first appeared in the ITV soap last year.

Kev arrived as Robert Sugden’s secret prison husband, where he informed Robert that he was terminally ill and wanted to make the most of his final days with his husband outside of prison life.

As fans will recall, Robert was already trying to kickstart a relationship with ex-husband Aaron Dingle, which eventually led to Kev leaving the village “for good” after wielding a sword in their faces.

That wasn’t all Kev did, however, as he dropped the bombshell on Nicola King and Liam Cavanagh that he is Lewis Barton’s biological father following a one-night stand with Emma Barton.

After a few months away from the Dales, Kev recently returned after Ross Barton hunted him down, finding him selling his famous lemon drizzle cake in a van on the side of the road.

Ross pleaded with Kev to help them get Lewis back who had been kidnapped by Kev’s ex partner, Kylie, in an act of revenge. Kev eventually agreed, and although he was warned off by Ross, he decided to tell Lewis the truth.

Breaking out into his own rendition of Boyzone’s Father and Son, Kev told Lewis that he was his father, leaving a rather shocked Lewis and Vinny at the sudden revelation.

In the episodes leading up to Lewis being saved, Liam, Kev and Ross were discussing visiting the pawn shop to return the diamond that Kylie desperately wanted back.

While discussing that the shop would have a record of their customers, Liam mentioned that he’d heard it mentioned on ITV daytime chat show, Lorraine.

Taking to her Instagram, Lorraine Kelly who is a self-confessed fan of the ITV soap, shared the clip with her followers and gushed: “A name check for me on @emmerdale !! How utterly fabulous and hilarious – the look on their faces at the end!”

Ash Palmisciano who plays Matty Barton in Emmerdale commented: “get yourself to the woolpack” to which Lorraine eagerly responded: “it has to happen !!!”
