Emmerdale fans spot major blunder as Paddy receives court date – did you notice?
EMMERDALE fans have spotted a major blunder with a huge new plotline involving Paddy Kirk.
Viewers of the ITV series called out script-writers for an apparent slip-up relating to the character’s upcoming legal proceedings.

Actor Dominic Brunt’s character will face trial for perverting the course of justice in a case involving Ray Daniels’ murder.
Viewers know that Bear Wolf murdered Ray to stop him from killing his son Paddy and Dylan on New Year’s Day.
Vet Paddy and Dylan then teamed up to move the body to cover up what had happened in an effort to protect Bear, who was traumatised after being kept as a slave by Ray and his twisted mum Celia Daniels.
Paddy and Dylan then confessed to what really happened – leading to the upcoming court case.

And while Emmerdale viewers aren’t quibbling their upcoming time in the dock – they are questioning the date he will take to the stand.
In a recent episode, Paddy’s wife Lisa is seen handing him a letter as she said: “Babe I think its from the court”.
He ripped open the envelope and said: “Ohh thats sooner than I expected”.
Jacob walked in the room and quizzed: “What is?” to which he replied: “I’ve got a date for the trial, 4th of May”.
Jacob said: “I can’t do this,” to which he replied: “There’s nothing to worry about, it’s going to be alright.
“We just have to tell the courts exactly what happened this is on Ray and Celia”.
Yet one fan uploaded the clip to TikTok and flagged that May 4 – which this year falls on Bank Holiday Monday – is a day when court doesn’t sit.
They wrote: “Come on ITV and Emmerdale – do your research a bit better.
“Unless I’m missing something, courts are still not running on Bank Holiday Mondays… Did you notice this?”
Another wrote on TikTok: “I do enjoy the soaps but sometimes they do silly things”.
One added: “Even though it’s pre-recorded the ITV producers know that the 4th May is a bank holiday haha”.
A fan joked: “Soap operas like Emmerdale are famous for prioritizing high-stakes drama over administrative accuracy”.
Another mused: “I don’t think bank holidays exist in soap land”.
According to ergsy.com, UK court dates are impacted by Bank Holidays.
A statement on their website read: “A court holiday is a day when court operations are closed, often recognised on national or public holidays”.
They add: “The UK court system observes several holidays, including national public holidays such as Christmas and Easter.
“These holidays result in court closures.
“Additionally, courts may have specific holidays, such as the legal year opening in October, which can further impact court schedules”.
Previously, Paddy actor Dominic confirmed his future on the soap after his father Bear was revealed as a killer.
“I think I’ve been so lucky for so long,” he told the Mirror.
“If they told me I was going I would be sad, but I’ve got to be grateful for everything.
“It completely changed my life. Hopefully I’ll be here for another 29 years.”
