BELLE WARNED CALVIN AND KAYCE NOT TO TRUST GARRETT || MARSHALS SEASON 1 FINAL EPISODE SPOILERS
Episode 9 of Marshals begins exactly where the previous episode left off: in the middle of a violent firefight at Randall Kle’s farm. Andrea has been taken, the team is under heavy fire, and the situation is already spiraling beyond their control.
Kayce, Calvin, Belle, and the others quickly realize they are outnumbered and outgunned. Randall’s people are dug in across the property, armed and waiting. Calvin wants to regroup, and with bullets flying from every direction, the team has no choice but to fall back.

They set up in a nearby barn, where Kayce studies the compound through a sniper scope. He spots at least ten armed men on the front line and more around the perimeter. Randall is not preparing to escape. He is preparing for a siege.
Calvin is wounded but refuses to slow down. Belle sees how reckless he is becoming and warns that they need more manpower before making another move. Kayce, meanwhile, blames himself. He believes Andrea’s kidnapping is part of the Dutton curse, the same cycle of violence that follows his family everywhere.
Calvin refuses to indulge that guilt. He wants focus, not self-punishment.
The tactical team is on its way from Salt Lake City, but they are still far out. Calvin wants to wait. Kayce does not. Their disagreement quickly turns into something older and more personal, reopening wounds from their shared military past. Miles sees the tension building and knows it could affect the mission.
Belle tries to speak to Calvin privately, but he brushes her off. He insists he is focused on saving Andrea, even though his body and judgment are clearly under pressure.
Inside the compound, Andrea refuses to play the helpless hostage. She tries to manipulate her captors with words, but the situation turns more dangerous when a pregnant woman confronts her and slaps her, accusing Andrea of being a liar with a sharp tongue.

Randall then begins livestreaming from the farm, claiming Kayce destroyed his livelihood and killed his son. At first, thousands watch. Then the number climbs rapidly. Randall is not just holding Andrea hostage. He is staging a public spectacle.
When Guilford and Woods arrive, they confirm that the tactical team is still about ninety minutes away. The group considers another option: bringing in Garrett, an old operator with history and experience. Belle is immediately cautious. She warns Calvin and Kayce not to trust Garrett too quickly, especially given his personal demons and unresolved trauma from war.
Still, Garrett may be useful.
Belle also discovers that Randall has a daughter named Stacy, who has cut ties with the family. That connection may be the key to understanding the farm’s weak points. Belle eventually convinces Stacy to help, giving the team valuable information about the property.
Meanwhile, Andrea manages to free herself. She overpowers one of Randall’s men, takes his gun, and calls 911. While moving through the house, she keeps the line open and carefully feeds clues about her location. Andrea proves she is not just waiting to be rescued. In many ways, she becomes the most capable person in the episode.
Kayce and Garrett scout the rear of the property and confirm it is softer than the front, guarded by fewer men. Calvin believes Randall is using the livestream to build a legend and may be planning to execute a marshal publicly. Time is running out.
Despite his doubts about Garrett, Calvin allows him to participate.
The team launches a distraction at the back of the compound, using an explosive tactic similar to past operations. They enter from the rear, engage Randall’s men, and push through the chaos to reach Andrea. After a tense firefight, Randall is finally overpowered, and his men stand down. He is taken into custody, but he remains disturbingly smug, claiming his legacy is only growing.
After the operation, Guilford gives Kayce rare praise. The two men shake hands, suggesting their hostility may be easing, at least for now. Garrett also resolves some of his tension with Calvin and Kayce, while the team celebrates surviving the mission.
Still, not everything is settled. Calvin continues hiding the truth about his health. Belle’s concerns remain valid. Garrett may have helped this time, but his past still makes him dangerous.
The episode also continues building character drama outside the main rescue. Calvin’s connection to Maddie is revealed more clearly: she is his daughter, and he joined the team partly to be closer to her. But Maddie wants nothing to do with him because of the years he failed her.
Kayce also appears to be finally earning his place on the team. Andrea accepts him more openly, though ironically, she did much of the saving herself.
Overall, Episode 9 works best when it leans into action. The dialogue can feel heavy with familiar clichés, and the procedural structure is sometimes too neat. But the rescue mission gives the hour urgency, and the character conflicts give it emotional weight.
As the finale approaches, one question remains: can this team truly trust each other when every member is carrying secrets, guilt, and unfinished business?
