Y&R May 4 Episode Recap: Lily Lies to Nikki as Kyle Takes Over Jack’s Victor Plan

Monday’s episode of The Young and the Restless delivered a tense mix of secrets, family warfare, and dangerous schemes as Genoa City’s power players found themselves pulled deeper into Victor Newman’s latest web of manipulation.

From Lily Winters quietly deceiving Nikki Newman to Kyle Abbott stepping into Jack Abbott’s revenge strategy, the May 4 episode made one thing clear: no alliance is safe, and no lie stays hidden forever.

Jack Tries To Use Patty Against Victor

At Crimson Lights, Jack Abbott found himself face-to-face with Patty Williams, whose return continues to stir unease. Patty immediately noticed Jack’s wedding ring, a small detail with major emotional weight. Jack’s marriage to Diane Jenkins Abbott remains fragile, and Patty wasted no time suggesting that the spark between Jack and Diane may already be gone.

But Jack was not simply entertaining Patty’s fantasy. He had his own agenda.

Jack tried to push Patty into admitting that Victor Newman was behind the yacht scheme. He knows Victor has been pulling strings, and Patty may be the key to exposing him. However, getting close to Patty is a dangerous strategy. Her attachment to Jack is already unstable, and any sign of warmth from him could easily be misread.

Kyle Steps Into The Fight

When Kyle Abbott arrived and saw how risky Jack’s approach had become, he quickly called his father out. Kyle understood what Jack seemed willing to ignore: if Diane had walked in and seen Patty close to him, the damage to Jack’s marriage could have been devastating.

Jack explained that he was trying to turn Patty into a weapon against Victor, but Kyle believed his father was too emotionally exposed to lead the plan. Jack needs to focus on repairing his marriage, not feeding another revenge cycle.

That is when Kyle made a bold decision. He would take over the mission against Victor.

Kyle believes he has an advantage Jack does not. Victor will expect Jack to retaliate. He knows Jack’s patterns, instincts, and weaknesses. But Kyle may be able to move in a way Victor does not see coming. In a war built on timing and surprise, that could make Kyle a dangerous new player.

Victor And Patty Celebrate Their Advantage

At the GCAC, Victor crossed paths with Diane, and their exchange was loaded with bitterness. Diane made it clear she wants Victor to fall hard after everything he has done to damage her marriage and manipulate the people around her.

Then Patty arrived, and both she and Victor pretended they had not seen each other since her return. Diane immediately saw through the act. She knows Patty played a role in Victor’s scheme, and she was not fooled by the polite performance.

Victor, meanwhile, seemed pleased that Patty remained useful. He even treated her like an ongoing asset, while Patty made it clear she intends to exploit Diane’s anger toward Jack. Their smug moment together did not go unnoticed. Diane watched from nearby, furious and fully aware that Victor and Patty are not finished causing damage.

Billy Learns He Is Part Of The Email Scandal

Across town, Victoria Newman visited Billy Abbott to discuss plans for picking up Johnny and Katie from boarding school. But the conversation quickly shifted when Victoria warned Billy about the forensic emails involving Phyllis Summers and Cane Ashby.

Billy was stunned to learn that his name appeared in the emails as well.

He immediately insisted the evidence was fabricated and accused Victor of using the scandal as another way to target him. For Billy, this was not just another corporate mess. If his name is connected to fake evidence, he could face real legal consequences.

Victoria tried to push back, reminding Billy that he has played his own games around Chancellor. Their argument quickly turned personal, exposing the old wounds that still exist between them. Victoria accused Billy of being obsessive and selfish, just as Sally Spectra walked in.

Sally’s Pregnancy Raises The Stakes

Sally’s arrival changed the tone immediately. Victoria noticed her engagement ring, congratulated her and Billy, and then learned that Sally is pregnant.

The news clearly landed with Victoria. Billy’s life is changing, and this scandal now threatens more than his reputation. He is engaged, expecting another child, and trying to build a stable future with Sally.

After Victoria left, Billy told Sally about the fake email situation and admitted that Cane and Phyllis may face charges. Sally naturally wondered what that could mean for Billy. He did not have answers yet, but he made it clear he intends to find out.

Lily Lies To Nikki

Meanwhile, outside the park café, Nikki Newman spoke with Claire Newman about her future. Nikki admitted that she does not expect to return to Chancellor and floated other possibilities, including starting a nonprofit or helping Noah with his nightclub.

She also suggested that Claire might one day run Chancellor, though Claire doubted she had the experience for such a massive role.

Lily Winters overheard part of the conversation and became curious. When Nikki asked about Lily’s deal with Victor—the one involving Lily faking her kidnapping to deceive Cane—the mood shifted.

Nikki wanted to know what Victor gave Lily in exchange for such a major sacrifice.

Lily had a choice. She could admit the truth about the Chancellor agreement, or she could protect herself.

She chose to lie.

Lily claimed the scheme was only about teaching Cane a lesson and nothing more. It was a quiet lie, but a dangerous one. Nikki knows Victor too well, and if she eventually learns that Lily hid the Chancellor agreement from her, the fallout could be severe.

Genoa City Heads Toward A Bigger Explosion

By the end of the May 4 episode, nearly every storyline was sitting on unstable ground. Jack wants to use Patty against Victor, but Patty is already aligned with Victor in her own twisted way. Kyle has stepped forward as the Abbott family’s unexpected weapon. Diane sees the danger clearly, even if others think they are still in control.

Billy is now caught in a fake email scandal that could threaten his freedom, just as his future with Sally should be entering a hopeful new chapter. Victoria’s warning only deepens the tension between them.

And Lily’s lie to Nikki may be the quietest but most dangerous move of all.

Because in Genoa City, secrets rarely stay buried—and when Nikki finally learns what Victor really promised Lily, the Chancellor fallout could become far more explosive than anyone expects.
