Casualty fans have been given a welcome boost as the beloved BBC series makes its long-awaited return to screens.
The popular medical drama was pulled from the broadcaster’s schedule for a fortnight, with Big Night of Musicals by the National Lottery airing one week and the FA Cup taking the other slot.
As the mini-series Learning Curve rolls on, with just two episodes remaining, viewers will be treated to the 11th instalment as a gripping synopsis hints at turbulent times ahead.
It reads: “As the ED faces a make-or-break CQC inspection, can Kim keep her secret, or will she spiral out of control? And will Siobhan’s search for answers lead her to the truth?”
Throughout this series, viewers have followed the harrowing storyline surrounding Siobhan McKenzie (played by Melanie Hill), who revealed to her colleagues that she had been raped, reports the Mirror.

Upon discovering the address of Siobhan’s attacker, Cam Mickelthwaite (Barney Walsh) attempted to confront him, though events rapidly took a turn for the worse.
The man launched an assault on Cam, leaving him requiring hospital surgery after sustaining a head injury.
Subsequently, her attacker, Chris Banfield (Cai Brigden), was arrested following the assault on Cam, while a new trailer depicts Siobhan confronting her rapist.
The footage shows her visiting Chris in prison as she screams in his face: “Say it! Say what you did to me!”

Yet he continues to deny raping Siobhan, insisting to police that her DNA was found on him because she had treated him at the hospital.
Nevertheless, viewers are concerned that Chris’ actions could have fatal repercussions, with many believing Cam may not survive his injuries.
This follows the BBC soap’s release of a trailer for the current series, which showcased a heartbreaking funeral scene leaving many of the much-loved staff members in pieces.
While the identity of the deceased has yet to be disclosed, fans are convinced it is Cam who falls victim to his head injury.
One viewer online pleaded: “Please don’t let Cam die.” Another wrote: “They better not kill Cam!”

A further fan commented: “So, guessing it’s Cam’s funeral, he’ll go after the attacker and come off worse.”
However, some viewers have suggested the tragic loss set to unfold could instead belong to newcomer Kim Chang (Jasmine Bayes).
Casualty airs on BBC One on Saturday 11 at 8:45pm
