As Chanel Realizes She May Not Be OK After All, Kristen Moves Her Murderous Timetable Up

Xander runs into Sarah on his way to a Marlena session. He’s taking Victoria to the zoo and dinner and all seems hunk-dory between the parents! His good nature evaporates, though, when Marlena asks if he set up Johnny. He calls her out for being manipulative by asking something personal under the guise of therapy. (Not no.) And he has nothing to say!

No worries! (Yeah, that feels like she was just fishing.) Next up is him using Gwen as access to the DiMera mansion. Now that she’s been kicked out, he’s a lot less interested. Xander, though, muses that Marlena would be all in on any attempt to take down EJ. “And here we are out of time,” she smiles. Well this took an interesting turn.

Does Roman Trust Kate?

Roman’s griping to Johnny about him staying at DiMera when Kate strolls up like they’re just one big happy family! Johnny scowls and leaves Kate to spin a bunch of lies to Roman about how she had nothing to do with setting Johnny up. Roman’s no dummy, though.

Kate would protect her family over his in a heartbeat. Remember Lucas kidnapping Sami? Roman does! Things get heated until Kate claims that since they’re married, his family is hers. She asks how to fix this, but doesn’t like Roman’s answer: Drop the lawsuit. Nope!

What’s Tate’s Plan?

Inside the Pub, Tate tells Brady that he’s done with college and is becoming a certified personal trainer! (Right. Well, your family’s rich, so whatever floats your boat.) And speaking of new career paths, Brady’s going to become a licensed PI. Congratulations all around!

 

Also, Tate’s going to teach at his dojo this summer and no, he hasn’t mentioned any of this to Holly. She’s too stressed over Sophia. Afterwards, Brady meets Marlena for lunch to tell her the wonderful Black Patch news. She’s not so sure of her own career change for Basic Black anymore.

Is Tate In Danger?

As he’s leaving the Pub, Tate spots Sophia and stops her dead in her tracks. She flips his warning to stay away from Holly into “Holly’s harassing me.” Tate almost threatens her with harm before he stops himself. Ah, more grist for the Sophia mill.

“You’d be perfectly happy never to see me again,” she smiles, then tells him to be careful what he wishes for. Tate looks confused. (Same. What does that mean?)

Did Lani Put Johnny In Danger?

Lani and Chanel make aquarium plans with the kids, and after they part, Kristen spots Lani and rushes over for a hug. “You always show up at the right time!” But Kristen doesn’t want to talk about her psychotic tendencies, she just wants to catch up with Lani over drinks.

They chat about the move (Yay, Lani’s back permanently!), Rachel (Kristen pretends not to be plotting murder) and Lani and Chanel’s aquarium trip tomorrow. More importantly, Kristen learns Johnny will be working from home…

Does Chanel Have Cancer?

Johnny gets home with the news that he made a doctor’s appointment for Chanel since she was too busy to make one herself. “You did what?!” Chanel loses it at her husband, but he works his “I’m just a worried husband” thing until she agrees to go.

At the appointment, Sarah points out that the lump could be nothing, but it needs to be checked. Chanel goes from angry to worried when Sarah breaks out the “M” word: Mammogram. As Sarah leaves to order the test, though, she looks a lot more concerned than she let on!

In the Show’s Final Moments

Xander strolls into the DiMera mansion, only for Kristen to put a stop to his snooping. They dance around their shared EJ hatred until Kristen offers yet another alliance. (She’s just collecting EJ haters left and right!)

At home, Chanel admits the doctor’s appointment was a good thing. Now she just wants a distraction — like waxing on about their beautiful new baby she might never get to raise if she has cancer! Wait, no, that’s not a good distraction.

And Kristen calls Sophia to tell her it’s time to move on Johnny. “This gets done tomorrow. No emotion. No mess.” Boy, that was fast.
