Coronation Street fans confused by Theo Silverton ‘change’ as ‘true downfall’ predicted
It comes as the abuser remains at risk of being killed off in upcoming scenes in the ITV soap
Coronation Street fans were quick to comment on somewhat of a ‘change’ to Theo Silverton’s character as they predict his ‘true downfall’ as he remains at risk of being killed off in upcoming scenes.
Those who follow the ITV soap are keen to see the builder off the cobbles for good after his abusive behaviour towards his husband, Todd Grimshaw, was finally exposed.
Last week’s Corrie saw a number of heartbreaking scenes as following a violent attack at the hands of his partner, a bloodied and bruised Todd was seen bravely giving a statement to the police about the domestic violence has has been suffering for months.
While Todd was giving his statement, back on the street, Gary Windass cornered Theo and threatened him with a wrench, forcing him into the van before making their way to the police station where Kit was seen arresting him for ABH and false imprisonment, and Lisa was later seen questioning the abuser.
After trying to push the blame onto Todd, asking if they were being treated the same, Theo was held for the night in custody by Lisa. Meanwhile, Todd was being treated in the hospital as it was revealed he had suffered a number of injuries, included a lacerated spleen and internal bleeding.

But Todd’s loved ones, including Sarah, were horrified to learn that Theo would likely be released as the police needed time to gather evidence, including the video footage which Todd said proves what has been going on.
After trying to get the evidence for herself, before being caught by Theo and reported to the police, a guilty Sarah Platt visited Todd and alongside George Shuttleworth, who was furious with her actions. She apologised to Todd and said she’d understand if he never wanted to talk to her again but he said it was “ok”, before heartbreakingly adding: “I knew he’d get away with it. He always does.” While George tried to reassure him it was over, Todd said: “It won’t stop. He won’t stop until he’s broken me completely.”
It was then during Sunday’s (April 19) episode of Corrie, after Todd returned home and headed to stay with George and co at his former home, No.11 Coronation Street, that Theo was seen making his way around the cobbles like nothing had happened.
He was repeatedly seen being confronted by Carl Webster, who has made a cash deal with Summer Spellman to get Theo behind bars not only for what he’s done to Todd, but also for being responsible for the death of her guardian, Billy Mayhew, after he stopped the vicar’s escape during a multi-vehicle crash which unfolded back in January.
While Theo didn’t rise to the bait, Corrie fans were seen flocking to social media as they spotted a sinister change to the abuser’s character, while also shared their hopes that he’ll soon be withering away behind bars.
@corriepodcast said: “I really wish we’d seen more of Theo ‘Man of a Thousand Voices’ Silverton in the last year. #corrie.” @J_WBerry replied: “I like that we’re watching Theo behave increasingly unhinged. He doesn’t need to keep his nice guy act up anymore, so we’re seeing the madness. He’s quite unpredictable now and could do anything.”
@Fake_TV_Chef shared: “Did anyone else notice that the nastier Theo gets, the more his accent and the way he moves his mouth change? It’s really weird and creepy. #Corrie.” @joy9kat posted: “I’m just waiting to see the prison cell door slam shut when Theo is locked up for a long while. Hopefully getting a taste of his own medicine! #Corrie.”
@poisonedtunaa added: “Now his true personality is out, theo’s mirthless mocking cruelty is unstomachable. and JC plays it so well. if i remember right #corrie’s previous highlights of abusers resulted in death therefore i cannot fathom theo silvertown being murdered he needs prison!”
