Beverley Callard has shared another emotional update with fans as she continues her battle with breast cancer, vowing to “kick cancer’s a**e” following a difficult few days.
The beloved actress, best known for playing Liz McDonald in Coronation Street, has been keeping followers informed throughout her treatment journey after being diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer earlier this year.
Beverley Callard Opens Up About Cancer Battle
The 69-year-old actress previously revealed that she received her diagnosis just 20 minutes before filming her first scenes as Lily Patterson in Irish soap Fair City.
Since then, Beverley has regularly updated fans on her recovery and treatment process.
Recently, the actress shared positive news after undergoing surgery that included the removal of three lymph nodes as a precautionary measure to prevent the cancer from spreading further.
Doctors later confirmed that the operation had gone well and successfully removed the cancer.
However, Beverley still faced an anxious wait after cancer cells were discovered in one of the lymph nodes sent for testing.

While enjoying a celebratory drink with husband Jon McEwan, the actress revealed that the cancer was considered “low numbers,” meaning she could soon begin radiotherapy treatment.

“That means I can begin the radiotherapy very soon, which I’m pleased about. So the next step is coming ahead.”

“Well, after a bad day yesterday, which I’ll tell you about another time, today, I’ve had a good day. My friend Kirsty has done my roots and now, I’m kick cancer’s a**e and going out for a late Sunday lunch.”
Her husband Jon McEwan could also be heard affectionately telling her:
“And you look gorgeous!”
The actress captioned the video:
“Another up and down couple of days, but on the positive side my roots have been done and I’m off out for Sunday dinner.”
