And Charity is about to discover just how dangerous that secret really is.

Jacob Tries To End The War With Dr Todd

Jacob has been pushed to breaking point by Dr Todd’s campaign against him. After he tried to report her officially, she struck first by filing her own complaint and backing it up with supposed evidence, including recordings.

Encouraged by Sarah, Jacob attempted to gather proof that Todd had been tormenting him. At Tug Ghyll, she cruelly admitted that nobody would believe him and revealed just how much she had enjoyed making him suffer. But when she realized Jacob was recording her, she deleted the footage and forced him out, leaving him devastated.

Then came another shock: Todd announced she was retiring early.

For a moment, Jacob may have believed that her decision meant the nightmare was ending. But her presence in the village remains a threat, especially after she convinced Vanessa that Jacob’s behavior had played a part in her retirement.

Next week, Jacob is unsettled when he learns Todd will attend her father’s funeral. Despite everything she has done to him, he begins to wonder whether the feud has gone too far. Sarah strongly disagrees, reminding him that Todd has spent weeks undermining his confidence and twisting the truth.

Still, Jacob decides he wants the conflict to stop. He approaches Todd, offers his sympathy, and apologizes for how ugly things became between them. For a brief moment, it seems as though Todd may accept the peace offering.

But in Emmerdale, peace rarely lasts for long.

Charity Faces A Devastating Demand

Todd’s next move turns her attention directly toward Charity.

The secret she holds concerns baby Ila’s true parentage. Since Ila’s birth, Charity has allowed Sarah and Jacob to raise the child as their own, even though neither of them is biologically connected to her. Todd already used this knowledge to pressure Charity into persuading Jacob to withdraw his complaint.

Now, she wants more.

After making loaded comments in front of Jacob, Todd leaves Charity deeply alarmed. Charity warns her to stay away, but Todd has no intention of backing down. In the beer garden, she corners Charity and reveals that she has proof of Ila’s true parentage.

Then comes the demand: cash in exchange for silence.

While Charity faces Todd’s blackmail, Cain Dingle prepares for a major moment in his cancer journey.

His surgery has been hanging over the family for weeks, especially after it was delayed following the injuries he suffered when Jacob accidentally knocked him down. Cain has tried to remain strong, but his fears about recovery and how the operation may affect his marriage to Moira continue to weigh heavily on him.

On the day of the surgery, the family gathers around him. Kyle struggles to hide his fear, and when Cain is wheeled toward theatre, the young boy panics and follows behind.

The operation is later confirmed to have gone as well as doctors hoped, but Cain’s recovery brings new emotional challenges. He becomes frightened about needing a catheter and worries about what the future may look like. When he tries to delay leaving hospital by pretending he is still in pain, Moira sees through him.

It is Sarah who finally manages to reach him, refusing to let Cain hide from what comes next. Her tough love helps convince him to return home and face recovery with his family beside him.

Robert’s Betrayal Pushes Cain Toward Revenge

But Cain’s return home does not bring peace for long.

Moira has been hiding a painful truth: Robert Sugden planted the fake identity documents that led to her arrest after Joe Tate blackmailed him. Moira kept the secret because she feared Cain’s anger could harm him before surgery.

Once Cain is back home, however, the truth becomes impossible to contain. When Aaron and Robert visit, Cain senses the awkward tension between them and Moira. After they leave, Moira finally admits what Robert did.

Cain is left furious.

After everything Moira endured, Robert’s betrayal cuts deep, and Cain’s anger quickly begins to turn toward revenge. Fresh from surgery and already emotionally fragile, Cain may be more unpredictable than ever.

Next week, Emmerdale places several characters on the edge at once. Charity is being blackmailed, Jacob is still trapped in Todd’s shadow, Cain is fighting to recover, and Robert may soon pay for what he did.
