Coronation Street fans have been left baffled by Jodie Ramsey’s recent disappearing act as the ‘missing’ character made a return to her family.

The mysterious character has been intriguing viewers ever since her debut during Corrie’s epic crossover with Emmerdale, dubbed Corriedale, which aired in January and featured a horror multi-vehicle pile-up.

As fans know, Jodie was seen tied up in a van driven by Emmerdale returnee Graham Foster. While they weren’t directly involved in the crash, Jodie made an escape bid, and after becoming injured, she ended up in the hospital, where she came across Shona Platt, later to be revealed as her long-lost sister.

Last week, Jodie was seen as one of five possible victims of a murder in Weatherfield, and as an episode dedicated to her story got underway, there was concern for Shona as Jodie could hear her outside No.8, claiming she hadn’t heard of who they were looking for and that they were mistaken.

However, Jodie stepped out of the house and revealed her identity. The two men demanded the return of the hard drive, and Jodie eventually relented. After previously telling Jodie she needed to leave for her, as well as the Platt family’s, safety, Shona had a change of heart and told her sister she could stay.

But when Shona went out, Jodie was seen making a shocking discovery. She found the letter she had written to her older sister as a youngster, which Shona claimed to have never received. Jodie then listened to a voicemail message that David had left, which confirmed to her that Shona had purposely ignored her cries for help.

Out for revenge, she messaged David and climbed into his and Shona’s bed, waiting for him to return home. Having been at Lisa and Carla’s wedding reception. David returned home and drunkenly stumbled into the bedroom. Having taken off his trousers, he climbed over the bed and began to kiss Jodie, believing her to be his wife. However, he got a shock when Jodie turned, and they came face-to-face.

David was horrified and quickly stopped anything from going any further, but a rejected Jodie tried to use the situation to her advantage. As they argued, David’s sister, Sarah Platt, heard the commotion and, as she went to see what was going on, Jodie claimed that David knew what he was doing and had tried it on with her. Eventually, the pair kicked her out, and David said Shona would want nothing to do with her when he tells her what happened.

Soon after, Jodie was seen down at the precinct when she was approached and pleaded to be left alone. It wasn’t until last Friday’s (May 1) episode of the ITV soap that it was revealed Jodie had been approached by Lily Platt and that she wasn’t the murder victim, with Theo Silverton seen as the one to meet a deadly end.

Since then, Jodie has had Shona worried sick after going missing. However, as viewers know, Jodie has been lurking in the shadows and during Thursday’s (May 7) episode of Corrie, she was almost caught at No.8 tucking into a sausage roll. She dashed out the back door when David and Shona returned home, but did overhear them planning to give more information to the police if she didn’t return the following day.

While Jodie will relieve Shona with her return during Friday’s (May 8) trip to the cobbles, Corrie fans were left sharing their confusion at how the newcomer has been getting away with life on the run.
