THE UNBELIEVABLE TWIST CAIN NEVER SAW COMING AND THE SHATTERING BURDEN TEARING ROBERT APART!
After weeks and weeks of bad news, things are finally starting to change for Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) in Emmerdale.
The nightmare for Cain and Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) began way back in January, when Cain was told by a doctor that he needs to be tested for cancer.
The universe really then threw everything at the couple, as Moira was arrested for double murder and modern slavery weeks after learning her husband might have cancer.
Thrown into prison for crimes she didn’t commit, Moira had no idea that Cain attended his hospital appointment alone and discovered he does have prostate cancer. She eventually learnt the truth though, and supported her husband as best she could through phone calls and prison visits.
While inside, Moira decided to sell her shares of Butler’s Farm to Kim Tate (Claire King). It was a heartbreaking moment for her, but she was certain it was the right one as Cain’s health was more important.
In search of a distraction in the lead up to his operation, Cain decided to make a Dingle Farm with his family, adamant he could create something for Moira to get stuck into when she came home.

The ‘when she came home’ eventually turned into ‘if she comes home’, as the police struggled to find any physical evidence that proved Moira wasn’t involved in Celia Daniels’ (Jaye Griffiths) operation.
Moira had lost hope, so she told Cain that she’d plead guilty at her upcoming hearing.
Meanwhile, Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) was working hard with Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) to try and find something the police might’ve missed. While they were on their quest to help Moira, they were also doing it to stop Robert handing himself in and confessing that he assisted in framing her.
With help from Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt), Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) and Kammy Haqid (Shebz Miah), the couple found a storage unit in Hotten which contained mountains of paperwork the police hadn’t seen.
Cain raced to the court and found Moira seconds before taking to the stand. He briefly mentioned the new evidence, but the hope in his eyes was enough to push Moira to plead not guilty.
In this evening’s episode, Cain took a phone call and discovered that the police had gone through all of the documents from the storage unit and concluded – at last – that Moira wasn’t involved in the horror Celia inflicted.

The charges have been dropped, which means she’s coming home.
Happiness at last for Cain – but things are never straightforward in soapland are they?
The one moment that proved this story isn’t quite over yet was Robert helping Cain with some farm work. He was simply doing this to try and assuage the guilt he feels for putting Moira in prison. Cain was grateful for Robert’s assistance, and even went as far as standing in the Butler’s Farm kitchen with the man who stole his home.
It means that while Cain looks to the future, and actually shows his gratitude towards Robert for his help, a ticking time bomb rests beneath them both and when it goes off, all hell will break loose.
