Emmerdale star QUITS soap after horrifying rape and murder storyline — and fans will be devastated

AN EMMERDALE star has quit the show while on maternity leave to focus on being a mum.

The actress left the show last year ahead of welcoming her first child.

However, The Sun can now reveal that she has no current plans to return to the soap after deciding to focus on her baby daughter Nora.

Actress Georgia Jay joined the soap in 2024 as Caleb and Ruby Miligan’s estranged daughter Steph.

She was quickly thrust into dramatic storylines when it was revealed that Steph was actually the result of Ruby’s own father raping her as a child.

The news left her devastated and she was pushed to her limits when it was revealed her grandfather had been killed by her mum Ruby.

The stress of the cover-up nearly broke Steph and she decided to flee the village to go travelling.

However, she was meant to return to the soap so actress Georgia could give birth and go on maternity leave.

But now The Sun can reveal that Georgia has changed her mind and won’t be returning.

A source said: “Georgia loved her time at Emmerdale but she has no plans to return now.

“She’s loving being a mum and that’s her focus for now.

“Obviously she’s open to opportunities but returning to a full-on soap schedule full-time is just not something she can do at the moment.”

Emmerdale has been contacted for comment.

Last month The Sun exclusively revealed how actress Olivia Bentley had been axed from the show with her exit storyline set to play out later this year.
